Salary Range: Up to $44,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

 

Job Summary

Function: To plan, coordinate, and support event-related operations for the School of Music.

Scope: Responsible for scheduling/supervising of events and coordinating technical, physical, and other required support.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Initiates, plans, schedules, and manages on and off-site university music and dance events, including coordination/procuring of location, facilities, technical services, supplies, personnel, and collaboration with publicity/marketing efforts.
  2. Ensures sufficient event support personnel are hired, trained, and scheduled.
  3. Coordinates work orders and maintenance of event rooms and/or equipment.
  4. Acts as a liaison with internal and external customers and agencies to coordinate and facilitate co-sponsored events.
  5. Communicates information regarding facility use, program operations, and campus policies, regulations, and procedures to customers and the University community.
  6. Manages operations of streaming and recording.
  7. Coordinates and schedules music major auditions.
  8. Supervises ticket production and sales.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Periodic:

  1. Coordinates and/or participates in special meetings.
  2. Prepares reports and statistical information.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of experience in events management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, events management software, and standard office equipment.
  • General knowledge of sound and lighting systems and other applicable equipment.
  • Knowledge of typical music concert set-up, stage management, and front-of-house procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music.
  • Experience in both front-of-house and stage management in music venues.
  • Experience in data management.
  • Experience with contemporary audio/video recording and production equipment.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment.
  • Ability to travel to and from on and off site music events, training sessions, or other business-related events.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
